Canvas Frequently Asked Questions for Students

  1. How do I log into Canvas?

  1. What is my Canvas Password?

    • Your must enter your WakeID credentials to access Canvas. If needed, one of your teachers can reset your WakeID password which then get you access to Canvas.
  1. Where can I find courses that I am enrolled in?

    • The Dashboard displays courses that you are enrolled in.
    • Click Courses > All Courses from the global navigation on the left of the screen to access all enrolled courses.
    • You can customize your course list giving you control over what is displayed on your Dashboard and your course menu. Instructions can be found at https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-1288.
  1. Where can I learn how to use Canvas?

  1. Do parents have access to their own WCPSS Canvas account?

No. WCPSS Canvas accounts are limited to active staff and students.

Parents do the ability to use the Canvas Parent app which can link to their students WCPSS Canvas account. This account is only accessible from the mobile app. Learn more at http://canvas.wcpss.net/canvasParent.htm.

Note: Grades in Canvas are not official records. Only PowerSchool contains the official record of grades.
